What Do You Like in Livermore?

For my first segment I want to focus on what there is to do in Livermore, CA and get the comments rolling because I’m sure that you know of a few I’ve missed! Here are a few I’d like to share with you:

Romantic
When I think of doing something romantic my first thought goes to Simply Fondue and reserving the special “Nook” area of the restaurant. It’s free of charge, quiet and secluded; allowing you to focus on conversation without hearing the craziness of other guests. And you can feed one another without the watchful glances of other patrons, I wouldn’t suggest going any farther than that – get a hotel! When my husband and I reserved the Nook, we were taken to the back of the restaurant, away from everyone else and secluded off with a long draped curtain to allow for more privacy. It was very romantic and a MUST if you really want to impress!

Weekly Fun
Farmer’s Market – need I say more? Get there when it starts if you’re anal about your fruit and veggies, otherwise, show up when everyone else does and enjoy the community. Quick food: There’s kettle corn, snow cones, BBQ, etc..

Restaurants
Emil Villa’s

Good ole’ American cuisine in a friendly, warm atmosphere. The owner, Ali, walks around and makes sure that you’re enjoying yourself and asks about your family.

China Pavilion

Hot and fresh Chinese food for lunch, dinner is ok

Lemon Grass
Husband enjoys this place for some good Thai

John’s Char Burger
Hands down the best burger, fries and milkshake

Mountain Mikes
Good, Large pizza

Strings
Cheap Italian cuisine, the chocolate lava cake is good for dessert

Outdoors
Del Valle Dog Run
Our dog loves this place, you can have your dog run off leash and play in the lake. Bonus: he also gets to play with other doggies!

Welcome to Life in Livermore

This is my first blog so bear with me in learning everything there is to do on blogs! I wanted to make this blog to share information and news about Livermore, CA and in connecting with other people around the bay area in beautiful California.

A little about me. I've lived in Livermore for the majority of my life and have seen it grow from being a bunch of tumbleweeds into the bustling downtown that we now have. I used to hate living in Livermore growing up here and now that I have a family of my own I have a new appreciation for everything that it stands for. I think collectively we're against expansion and want to keep it from becoming the craziness that is the surrounding Dublin and Pleasanton. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to work/visit both of those towns, but it is nice to come home to Livermore where it doesn't take 1/2 an hour to get from one side of the town to the other.

My family and I love living here, when I see our surrounding hills in the distance with the windmills on one side I feel safe and at home. I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I couldn't imagine not living in our little valley. For instance, when I travel around the bay area and I don't have the hills surrounding me, it just doesn't feel right :)

I hope this gives you some insight into me.

As for this blog, I really want to be able to reach out to everyone in the community and provide a place for people to sound off about our valley area and connect events/places with people. Feel free to share info and news and events with the rest of us!

Much Love - April
